Harmoni Towers is set to dismantle a 295-foot tower in Alabama this week after the structure was deemed to be at risk of collapse last week.

As reported by Wireless Estimator, the tower is perched around 60 feet above an Alabama highway.

The structure will be dismantled by crane this week after inspectors found the tower leaning.

Harmoni owns the structure, located along Highway 69 in Bremen, northeast of Jasper, having acquired it from Uniti Group, which built the tower in 2021.

It was during a scheduled maintenance visit at the site that inspectors noted that the foundation had sunk and shifted, causing the tower to lean toward the roadway, reported Wireless Estimator.

With around 1,770 tower sites across the US, Harmoni is the seventh-largest tower company in the country.

In a statement to Wireless Estimator, the company said it immediately deployed its team to assess the situation.

"In an abundance of caution, the on-site team, with the support of our senior management team, decided to disassemble the tower. We also immediately alerted state and local authorities of our plans, offering them an opportunity to investigate," said a Harmoni Towers spokesperson.

The company plans to investigate what caused the tower to sink and experience the foundation movement it has. It's thought that the weather could have caused the issue.
