UAE data center firm Khazna is expanding into Saudi Arabia.

The company this week announced the acquisition of 225,000 sqm (2.4 million sq ft) of land in Dammam to develop local data center capacity. The company said the site, the company’s first in the kingdom, will support up to 200MW of capacity.

Few details were provided, but Khazna said the site will be developed using modular architecture and will be able to support a range of workloads, including those running on GPUs.

The firm has appointed Mohammed Bin Hassan as country head for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We want to help build the foundation beneath the country’s AI-powered future.”

Bin Hassan added: “Khazna is a proven global expert in the hyperscale infrastructure that is essential for powering AI-driven economies. Our entry into the Kingdom reflects a long-term commitment to enabling Saudi Arabia’s digital economy goals under Vision 2030. I’m honored to lead this next chapter as we build infrastructure that not only meets future demand but accelerates innovation, resilience, and national progress.”

Khazna, which bills itself as the largest hyperscale wholesale data center provider in the region, currently operates 30 live data centers, totaling almost 650MW of capacity.

The company aims to develop more than 1GW of additional capacity across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy, and other markets.

Khazna is backed by G42, and in April 2025, secured additional funding from MGX and Silver Lake, with the investment firms becoming minority shareholders in the business.

Operators in Dammam, a port city on the Saudi east coast, include Damac, Center3, and Gulf Data Hub.
