Iraqi data center company T964 will build a data center in the country, with Schneider Electric providing power and cooling infrastructure.

The colocation data center – which T964 claims will be Iraq’s first commercial Tier III data center – will be built in phases, with the first offering “scalable capacity growing from launch up to 12MW as demand increases,” according to a press release from T964. It added that the site has access to 84MW of power.

T964’s website, however, states that the data center will only offer 3MW of IT load.

The company also said that construction was progressing faster than the planned launch at the end of this year.

But details about the facility’s location were not provided.

T964, which stands for Tech 964, is also part of an UAE-Iraqi consortium behind a $700 million subsea and terrestrial data cable called WorldLink, which was announced earlier this year in February.
