Intel’s VP of data center AI product management, Saurabh Kulkarni, has left the company.

His departure, first reported by CRN and later confirmed by Intel, comes less than two months after the chipmaker lost its second senior fellow and Xeon chief architect this year.

The report said that Kulkarni, who joined Intel in August 2023, was leaving the company to take up a position at AMD.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Kulkarni “spearheaded reference architecture definition for Ethernet-based scale-up and scale-out systems with Gaudi accelerators… [and] championed the rackscale systems initiative for data center scale AI systems at Intel.”

In his most recent role, focused on data center AI products, his responsibilities included “driving silicon photonics strategy for GPU interconnect to improve scalability and performance for next-generation data center scale systems.”

The two-year stint was the second time Kulkarni had worked for Intel – he previously spent 13 years at the company working as a CPU senior design engineer and senior security and hardware architect. He left that role to join Microsoft and has also held positions at Oracle and Graphcore.

In a statement to CRN, an Intel spokesperson said that Anil Nanduri, VP of AI go-to-market, would assume leadership of the AI product management organization, adding that “the team remains focused on execution and delivering for customers.”

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan has overseen a number of personnel changes since taking over the top job in March 2025. His most recent leadership shuffle took place in September and saw him appoint Kevork Kechichian as EVP and GM of Intel’s Data Center Group (DCG). Intel’s DCG was previously overseen by the chief executive of Intel Products, but now reports directly to Tan.

The company has yet to appoint a new chief executive of Intel Products following the recent departure of Michelle Johnston ‘MJ’ Holthaus after almost 23 years at the company.
