Communications and technology solutions company Integra has expanded its network reach to Europe through an agreement with international peering company IX Reach.

The agreement extends Integra’s network through four of Europe’s largest internet exchanges which will provide its customers with direct access and low-latency data transport to more than 1,000 European peer networks.

Integra’s SVP of engineering and network planning Jason Koenders said as multi-location businesses have grown, so has the company’s customer mix and network traffic.

“Expansion across the Atlantic was the first logical step for us internationally and serves as a solid complement to the investments we’ve made, and will continue to make, in expanding access to our networks,” Koenders said.

Earlier this year Integra deployed a long-haul fiber network from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Sacramento, California, and a 25% increase in ethernet over copper access within its footprint.
