Singapore-based Galaxy DC has secured $250 million to fund its data center platform.

The company said that the money was raised in an “initial strategic financing round from a renowned international investment institution.”

The identity of the investor was not provided.

Galaxy DC said that these data centers would be “GW-scale [AI data center] campuses across Southeast Asia,” but details about the timelines, scale, and locations of these campuses were not provided.

Galaxy DC – short for Galaxy Data Center – is owned by Hoyinn Technologies, a Chinese tech company.

It should not be confused with Galaxy Data Centers, a London-based data center operator, or Galaxy Digital, a US-based crypto-turned-data center company that went public last May.

Galaxy DC is based in Singapore and is focused on the Southeast Asian market.

The company announced last August that it was investing $2 billion in a computing cluster in Silicon Tech Park, a technology park west of Rayong, Thailand.
