HP claims its new Business Analytics Services will help its clients to outsource services to hosting companies more efficiently and could boost sales for the data center industry.

The vendor says it will work closely with clients to set up, run and deliver analytics that will give clients better insights on marketing, sales, customers, supply chain, finance and human resources. Better information can only help to mitigate risk, said Danila Meirlaen, HP's vice president of Business Process Outsourcing. Helping companies identify opportunities more quickly will create more business for hosting companies too, Meirlaen said.

“HP provides the hardware and software for firms to utilize big data and experienced analytic professionals to help the clients decision-making,” said Meirlaen.

Enterprises around the globe struggle to make sense of and act on the multitudes of unstructured and structured information, Meirlaen said. HP's analytics will make the information 'relevant, quantifiable and actionable' and, by giving the right advice at the right time, could increase the client's confidence in outsourcing deals.

HP's own BPO professionals will carry out the analysis, giving insights and recommending actions for clients. The vendor says its services will be technology agnostic and its analysts are not limited to using research from HP Labs, software from HP acquisitions Vertica and Autonomy and HP’s suite of Information Management and Analytics technology.

The vendor claims growth opportunities will be recognised more quickly, meaning that outsourcing happens quicker, creating a knock on effect of improved demand for the services of hosting companies. It also promises that customer experience and product quality improvements will help clients make further savings.

“Enterprises made significant investments to capture and store data,” said Meirlaen, “but few have developed the talent, tools and processes needed to turn this big data into actionable insights.”

The new services, available in standalone form or embedded in many HP BPO offerings, are priced “according to customer engagement”.
