HPE has confirmed that it will continue its role as the official technology partner for the Ryder Cup for next year's edition of the event.

This will see HPE build on the work the tech giant has done at previous Ryder Cup events in Rome and, more recently, in New York last year.

As its role as the worldwide supplier of the 2027 Ryder Cup, HPE said it will provide an intelligent foundation that powers the digital fan experience, autonomous IT operations and AI-driven intelligence.

According to HPE, the network at next year's event at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, will be built on its HPE Self-Driving Network.

This SDN will provide connectivity at the course for fans, staff, and systems, while an advanced Connected Intelligence Center (CIC) will provide a unified, real-time view of all tournament operations, which HPE notes will create an agentic enterprise that can "anticipate, adapt and act."

A total of 250,000 spectators are anticipated for the event next year, which will take place between September 17-19, when Europe and the US tee off.

HPE's SDN will leverage WiFi 7 to span the 230-acre golf course, grandstands, hospitality venues, media compounds and operations centers, the network will continuously monitor, adapt, and optimize user experiences in real time, helping prevent issues before they happen.

The company will also expand the CIC, which HPE first introduced at the 2025 Ryder Cup. This is powered by HPE Private Cloud AI and developed by HPE Services, the enhanced operations center will securely bring together data, AI models and tools from across the tournament ecosystem in a unified operational view, helping teams monitor activity, identify emerging issues and make faster, more informed decisions.

“The Ryder Cup sets the standard for global sporting events and its unique demands are a perfect proving ground for HPE’s latest technology innovations across networking, AI and cloud,” said Matt Harris, senior vice president & managing director, UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa, HPE.

“HPE is proud to return for this historic tournament and help prepare the Ryder Cup for the future with an intelligent foundation that connects people, simplifies operations and demonstrates what is possible as organizations implement autonomous, agentic IT.”

“Since 2018, HPE innovation has helped us to push the technological boundaries further at each Ryder Cup and set new standards for global events,” added Michael Cole, chief technology officer, Ryder Cup Europe. “Our continued work with HPE will help give our teams the connectivity and intelligence needed to deliver our best-ever event at Adare Manor, as well as creating a future-proofed, intelligent foundation that sets us up for future editions.”

The 2025 iteration wasn’t the first time that HPE has provided WiFi connectivity at a Ryder Cup event, previously doing so in Paris, France, in 2018 and then in 2023 in Rome, Italy.

During last year's event, HPE deployed 170 CX switches, 650 WiFi 6E access points, 25 Aruba Network UXI sensors, which estimate user experience by testing critical metrics for network availability, and 67 AI-enabled video cameras across the course.
