Energy storage firm Hithium has announced a new energy storage system (ESS) for the AI data center market.
The AIDC ESS solution comprises the ∞Power 6.25MWh eight-hour long-duration battery energy storage system, the ∞Power N 2.28MWh one-hour BESS, as well as a dedicated lifespan assessment model.
According to the company, which unveiled the system at the RE+ 2025 show in Las Vegas, the solution addresses both the real-time and reliability requirements of data centers while helping to boost renewable energy utilization.
The batteries work to complement one another, with the long-duration unit designed as a backbone for long-duration storage, and the one-hour sodium-ion powered unit built to handle sudden power surges.
The company claims that together the technologies enable data center operators to meet both base load and peak demands efficiently, without sacrificing reliability.
“At Hithium, we designed our AI data center energy storage portfolio with customer operations in mind,” said Kush Sutaria, Hithium senior manager of application engineering.
In addition, the lifetime assessment model for the ESS system is expected to provide degradation insights, guaranteeing a longer and more reliable project lifespan under highly dynamic workloads.
Founded in 2019, Hithium is a Chinese manufacturer of energy storage projects. The company opened a manufacturing facility in Mesquite, Texas, earlier this year. The 484,441 sq ft (45,000 sqm) facility is expected to commence mass production later this year and will have an annual capacity of 10GWh for battery modules and systems.
Several energy storage companies have targeted the data center market as a crucial customer. Notably, last year, Energy Vault partnered with RackScale Data Centers to deliver 2GW/20GWh of primary power to RSDC data centers through its novel B-Nest system.
