Hammerhead AI has emerged from stealth after raising a $10 million seed round to tackle power constraints in large-scale AI infrastructure.

The company is targeting AI data centers, where GPUs are being deployed faster than operators can secure power, leaving some systems running at 30–50 percent of their potential. Hammerhead claims that this results in large amounts of stranded capacity that could otherwise support training and inference workloads.

To combat this issue, it has developed its ORCA (Orchestrated RL Control Agents) platform, which is designed to raise token throughput by up to 30 percent by orchestrating workloads within existing power limits.

According to the company, ORCA works across the full stack of the data center, utilizing reinforcement-learning controllers to respond to real-time conditions. The company argued that in constrained markets, unlocking a single megawatt of stranded power can be worth tens of millions of dollars.

Hammerhead will use the new funding to advance product development, expand deployments, and continue integration work with OEMs and AI-infrastructure operators. The company said it is engaging with operators, OEMs, and cloud providers seeking to overcome power-bound capacity limits.

The company is headquartered in Redwood City, California. Its leadership includes former AutoGrid executives Kar and CTO Rajeev Singh. The wider team includes data center and cloud operations veterans from Dell, HPE, Microsoft, Meta, and Lambda Labs. The company is also part of SE Ventures’ first Accelerator Program and Nvidia’s Inception Program.

The funding round was led by Buoyant Ventures, with backing from SE Ventures, AINA Climate AI Ventures, MCJ Collective, WovenEarth Ventures, Bombellii Ventures, Clearvision Ventures, Stepchange, Acclimate Ventures, and several individual investors, including Jack Cogen of CoreWeave.
