GTC Towers has acquired 22 broadcast tower sites from Michigan-based Saga Communications for approximately $10.7 million.
The sale was confirmed by Saga, which stated that it will use the towers with no cash lease payment.
The transaction expands GTC's (formerly Grande Towers) tower footprint in the US.
Saga operates in 28 markets across the US, providing radio, digital, e-commerce, and local online news.
According to Saga, the sale closed on October 17, 2025.
“Saga previously announced its plans to optimize our portfolio of assets, and this is a significant step in doing so. We are committed to evaluating every asset we own while still efficiently and effectively operating our businesses," said Chris Forgy, president and CEO of Saga.
In a statement to Inside Towers, GTC CEO Tony Peduto said, "the towers are in prime locations for additional future leasing."
“GTC likes the Saga portfolio as the majority of the tenant revenue is from the three nationwide carriers and the towers are in prime locations for additional future leasing,” said Peduto.
“Saga maintained its towers well, so there is little that needs to be done from a maintenance perspective. As soon as the government opens, we will get the ASRs transferred into GTC’s name."
Earlier this year, GTC signed an agreement to acquire certain towers from Altice USA. The company didn't disclose how many towers the deal covered, but noted at the time that the transaction would expand its tower portfolio to more than 200 across the US.
GTC is backed by investment firm Norwest, which launched the company last year.
The tower company was co-founded by Peduto and Clarence Cook and operates towers in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
Peduto previously founded CTI Towers in 2011, where he worked as CEO until 2021. Before this, he was COO of Optasite until the company’s sale to SBA Communications Corp.
