Voltage Park has merged with Lightning AI, with the two aiming to combine to offer an AI cloud platform.

With the merger now completed, the combined company will operate under the Lightning AI name.

Terms of the deal were not shared.

Voltage Park is a GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) provider, offering access to on-demand Nvidia H100, B200, and GB300 GPUs, hosted in six data centers across the US, while Lightning AI is a cloud platform designed for companies to build and run AI applications.

The combined company will leverage Voltage Park's infrastructure and fleet of more than 35,000 GPUs, and bring Lightning AI software into a single platform.

“Our vision has been to build the cloud for the Gen AI age,” said William Falcon, founder and CEO of Lightning AI. “When I was pretraining world models in 2019 at Facebook’s AI Lab during my PhD, the amount of tooling required, limited access to high-performance infrastructure, and lack of collaboration slowed our research down. From day one, I set out to build a next-generation cloud accessible to everyone, from undergrads to Fortune 100 companies. It’s taken us six years to get here, and this merger is the next big step to making that vision real.”

They’ll be AI-native from day one, just as AWS was foundational for the Internet era, we are building ground up for the AI era.”

Customers will still be able to use Lightning alongside Amazon Web Services and other cloud providers. The company says that the merger will not disrupt operations for existing customers, instead just expanding the capabilities available.

In April 2025, Voltage Park acquired TensorDock, a GPU marketplace. The company entered the GPUaaS space in late 2023, when it was reported to have purchased 24,000 Nvidia H100 chips. The company's data centers are located in Puyallup and Quincy, Washington; Sterling, Virginia; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Fort Worth and Allen, Texas.

Lightning AI's founder, William Falcon, began developing PyTorch Lightning in 2015 at Columbia University. He open-sourced it in 2019 and, in 2023, launched Lightning AI Studio.
