Google plans to invest another $1 billion into Anthropic.
The tech giant previously pumped $2bn into the generative AI business, along with providing cloud computing services.
Rival Amazon has invested some $8 billion into Anthropic, which made it the company's "primary cloud and training partner." Anthropic plans to use "AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips to train and deploy its future foundation models" alongside Nvidia GPUs.
The AI company, best known for its Claude family of models, is currently looking to raise another $2bn in a round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. That would value the company at $60bn.
Earlier this week, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called artificial general intelligence a marketing term, and said he preferred to think about future advanced AI systems as a "country of geniuses in a data center."
