A man from Georgia has been arrested for stealing $50,000 worth of telecoms equipment from a cell tower.

WSB-TV Atlanta named the man as William Talmedge Streetman, 25, of Dallas, Texas.

He was arrested for stealing $50,000 worth of equipment from a cell tower on June 2, noted Adairsville Police Department, and charged with theft by taking.

Streetman was arrested for multiple thefts after an investigation into thousands of dollars of equipment being stolen.

The stolen equipment included a “substantial quantity of coaxial cable and several batteries."

Adairsville Police Department found that Streetman had taken the stolen equipment to a recycling facility to trade it for money.

The police then discovered that Streetman had been apprehended in Bartow County for a separate, identical theft.

Also this week, a 43-year old man was arrested for a reported burglary of a cell tower in Chase County, Kansas.

Jeremy Cox was charged with single counts of burglary, theft, and criminal damage, plus two counts of criminal trespass. Cox had twice visited the site, once on April 22 and then again on May 8, as reported by KVOE.
