A former Chevron data center is available for sale or lease in Houston, Texas.
The ‘Houston Technology Center’ is a four-story, 570,000 sq ft (53,000 sqm) property.
It was converted into a multi-tenant facility in 2001 and is currently 50 percent leased, with most occupants running data and call centers.
It is located near the intersection of Belway 8 and Westpark Toll Road, located in west Houston.
According to Todd Smith, CTO of real estate firm Transwestern, power expansion plans would enable the facility to offer more than 100MW of capacity. Over ten network carriers have existing connections to the building.
Houston is one of Texas’ largest data center markets, though it falls behind the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Other areas with notable data center presence include Austin and San Antonio.
