Flexential has established an $800 million credit facility, upsized from its initial target of $500m, with the goal of expanding its data center capacity in key markets.
The data center facilities and solutions provider said the credit facility will support more than 130MW in new capacity across the US.
This includes under-construction projects, such as a 36MW site in Atlanta-Douglasville, Georgia, a 36MW site in Portland-Hillsboro, Oregon, and a 22.5MW site in Denver-Parker, Colorado.
The company is also planning another 36MW site in Portland-Hillsboro, and a 4.5MW expansion adjacent to an existing site in Atlanta-Norcross, Georgia.
Flexential said the credit facility builds on its broader investment strategy to expand its capacity across the US.
The facility was oversubscribed and upsized by 60 percent of its original target due to the strong demand. It is supported by a syndicate of 11 digital infrastructure banks.
"We are collaborating closely with our customers and partners and making infrastructure investments today based on where we know they are growing," said Ryan Mallory, CEO of Flexential.
"Our customers are planning years in advance, and they need confidence that the capacity, density and connectivity they'll need will be there when they're ready. This financing gives us the ability to invest ahead of that demand and deliver the infrastructure to support their growth."
Flexential was formed in 2017 following a merger of data center firms Peak 10 and ViaWest by investment firm GI Partners. The company has more than 360MW of capacity in more than 40 data centers across 18 US markets.
