English Premier League giants Everton Football Club have announced an MVNO SIM-only service.

Dubbed Everton Mobile, the 5G service will be available across three plans, with prices ranging between £15 ($20) to £25 ($33) per month.

MVNOs: A niche or a nuisance?

Mobile virtual network operators are shaking up the telecoms market, but is this at the expense of the mobile operators?

An MVNO doesn’t own or operate its own network infrastructure in the same way that a traditional mobile network operator (MNO) does. These MVNOs instead piggyback off of these networks as wholesale providers, offering their own mobile plans.

In Everton's case the service will work over either the O2 or Vodafone networks.

"We have worked to create plans that are straightforward, flexible and competitively priced, with access to the O2 or Vodafone networks, while also offering supporters something their usual mobile provider can’t – opportunities and experiences that bring them closer to their club," said Aaron Duckmanton, chief revenue officer, Everton.

The club has three plans available for customers to choose from, Essential, Plus, and Ultimate, which include unlimited UK minutes and texts and a variety of data packages.

According to the club, the plans also allow Everton supporters to enter prize draws, such as winning stadium tours.

Customers who sign up for the Ultimate plan are able to receive a complimentary Forever Blue+ Membership for the 2027/28 season (provided they sign up before 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2026).

Everton aren't the only football club to launch a dedicated mobile service for its supporters. London-based Millwall Football Club paired with Three to launch its MVNO offering Millwall Mobile last year, becoming the first British football club to do so.
