Equinix is introducing a new range of liquid-cooled environments at four of its data centers to help customers with AI adoption.
The colo giant has launched Equinix Enhanced Performance Innovation Centers (EPIC) at its data centers in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, and Paris.
It described EPIC as “a global network of production-ready liquid cooling environments,” and said it will “enable enterprises to test, build and deploy high-density AI infrastructure with the confidence and support of Equinix experts and leading technology partners.”
Businesses can trial liquid-cooled GPU and CPU platforms from Equinix’s hardware partners, and test AI training and inference workloads under real-world conditions. Equinix staff will be on hand to help identify and solve operational issues ahead of full deployments.
"Liquid cooling is an essential component of modern enterprise infrastructure and a hard requirement for customers deploying AI,” said Brian Stein, SVP for infrastructure products and services at Equinix.
“EPIC provides businesses with a place to test, validate, and build with confidence before they commit to large-scale deployments. We’re putting our global infrastructure footprint and unmatched ecosystem to work to accelerate the path from concept to production for our customers."
Equinix, which operates 282 data centers globally, said it will add more EPIC locations in 2027. The offering builds on its Solution Validation Centers, launched in 2024 for customers to validate regular workloads.
It marks Equinix’s latest foray into AI infrastructure. In September, the company announced it was working with Nvidia and Together AI on an inference platform.
