Emerson, provider of electrical infrastructure equipment for data centers, added two products to its uninterruptible power supply (UPS) product portfolio.
These are the first new offerings in the portfolio the company created as a result of its acquisition of Chloride in Sepember of 2010. Franco Costa, VP and general manager of Emerson's AC Power business in EMEA (the first region where Emerson made the two new solutions available), said Emerson was able to integrate Chloride and its technology with Emerson's own into a single range in 12 months.
“We have successfully united the best parts of the UPS technologies from our Liebert and Chloride product brands – to bring to market systems that are superior in their performance,” Costa said.
The products are Liebert NXC and Liebert NX UPS systems. The other systems in the AC Power portfolio are Liebert GXT, Liebert APM, Chloride 80-NET and Chloride Trinergy. NXC is a compact free-standing 10-20kVA UPS with double-converstion efficiency of up to 94.3%. The unit has an “Eco” mode, in which its efficiency goes up to 98%, according to the manufacturer.
The system's integrated back-up time is 60 minutes. Emerson offers NXC in either single-phase or three-phase output configuration. The vendor provides an option to fit an integrated isolation transformer alongside the battery in the NXC cabinet.
Liebert NX covers the 30-40-60kVA range. Emerson says its double-conversion efficiency can be up to 96%. It features an integrated isolation transformer up to 60kVA and an integrated battery, also up to 60kVA. Both NXC and NX units are LIFE.net compatible for real-time monitoring.
