Water monitoring and treatment firm Ecolab Inc. has launched a new product to help monitor the health of direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems.
The company’s new 3D Trasar technology for direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems delivers real-time monitoring of coolant health, tracking coolant concentration, temperature, pH, flow rates, and other fluid health indicators to help protect servers and cooling infrastructure.
“The accelerated growth of AI, which is driving rapidly increasing rack densities, creates complexity for data center operators as they address competing resource and business demands,” said Mukul Girotra, vice president and general manager, global high tech, Ecolab. “By integrating monitoring, performance insights, and global expertise, we can help data centers prepare with scalable solutions that enable them to navigate the pressure of reliably doing more with less.”
Ecolab said the product was developed with feedback from both data center operators and IT equipment manufacturers to meet the needs of data center white space. It relies on Ecolab’s cloud-based ECOLAB3D industrial IoT platform. It also includes the company’s Water Quality IQ performance insights, which provide data and recommended actions for operators.
“Data center operators need cooling systems that can keep pace with rapidly advancing heat loads,” added Girotra. “This portfolio, anchored by 3D TRASAR Technology for Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling, expands our capabilities with advanced cooling technology for the data center white space.”
Founded in 1923 to sell carpet cleaning products, NYSE-listed Ecolab provides water treatment and monitoring products and services across industries including food, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing.
The company, via its Nalco Water unit, offers 3D Trasar water monitoring products for cooling water for cooling towers and chillers, and adiabatic cooling to optimize direct evaporative cooling systems.
