American power distribution specialist Eaton has launched a range of modular UPS systems designed to scale with the load.
The 9PXM range features online double-conversion technology, promises a 94 percent efficiency rating at full load and Eaton says it delivers the lowest total cost of ownership in the 4-20 kVA range.
The new devices are available immediately in North America through Eaton’s channel partners.
Made of bricks
The 9PXM range offers small footprint, hot-swappable power and battery modules, and compatibility with a wide range of racks and PDUs – being able to be deployed either stand-alone or mounted alongside working IT equipment. It also supports external battery cabinets for extended runtime.
The system is based on online double conversion, which sees power converted from AC to DC and then back to AC – a more expensive, but more reliable option than line-interactive UPS topology.
The 9PXM range is fully integrated with Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager software for automatic remediation policies, and features the company’s Advanced Battery Management (ABM) technology that extends battery service life and optimizes recharge time.
“From edge data centers and colocation facilities to commercial and industrial facilities, IT managers need versatile backup power that meets their businesses’ unique requirements,” said Graciano Beyhaut, senior product line manager at Eaton. “We’ve engineered the 9PXM UPS with a modular and versatile design that allows these users to start small and expand as their business needs grow, all while maintaining a compact footprint.”
