DXN has been selected by an unnamed neocloud to supply a modular data center.

The awarded contract has a value of AU$8.8 million (US$6.29m) and will see DXN design, engineer, manufacture, and commission an AI HPC modular data center solution for the customer with 1.36MW of capacity.

The data center pod will come with integrated power, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, fire suppression, and building management systems. It will be able to support densities up to 150kW per rack.

According to DXN, manufacturing will begin immediately following the signing of the contract, with fabrication set to take place at DXN's Welshpool, Western Australia, facility, and to be commissioned at the customer site in the US within six months.

DXN's MD, Shalini Lagrutta, said: "This AI HPC contract is a defining milestone for DXN, further reinforcing our US delivery track record and the next step in DXN's growing global footprint. Securing a publicly listed, US-based neocloud operator further validates DXN's strategic direction and execution over the last three years: productizing our modular data center capability specifically for the high-density AI inference market."

Lagrutta added that the contract was awarded "ahead of a large-scale campus program." The initial deployment is described as a pilot proof-of-concept deployment, with the architecture "purpose-designed" to be expandable and able to support the larger campus-scale plans. The customer has told DXN that, if the pilot is successful, this could be expanded to a US$200m+ contract for the company.

While the neocloud has not been named, few neoclouds are publicly listed yet. CoreWeave is one such example of a US-based neocloud that is, having filed for its IPO in March 2025.
