Duos Edge AI has planted another of its Edge data centers in a school district in Texas to help boost connectivity for staff and pupils.

The company, a subsidiary of Duos Technologies, has launched the Edge data center in Dumas, which is located in Moore County in north west Texas.

Duos Edge is aiming to launch 15 of the Edge pods before the end of the year, and its successes so far have led to president Doug Recker taking on an expanded role within its parent company.

Bringing the Edge to Dumas

The containerized data center will serve as a localized hub for real-time data processing, enabling advanced educational tools, stronger digital infrastructure, and improved connectivity for students and staff in the Dumas Independent School District (ISD).

Duos digs Doug

Duos Edge was founded last year by train tech firm Duos Technologies, and raised $2.2m in funding for the initial roll-out. The new business is led by EdgePresence and Colo5 founder Recker, and the company’s Edge data centers contain 15 cabinets housed in a 55ft by 13ft (13m by 4m) pod and are reportedly able to support up to 100kW per rack.

The company deployed an Edge module at the Region 16 Education Service Center in Amarillo, Texas, last year, serving 60 school districts and three charter schools with 226 campuses across a 26,000 square-mile area.

More recently, in May 2025, the firm supplied a data center to another Texas school district in Victoria, and announced it was delivering two units for schools in the city of Corpus Christi.

This rapid growth has led to Recker taking on a new additional role as Duos Technologies president, reporting to the group CEO, Chuck Ferry.
