Nasdaq-listed Duos Technologies Group, Inc., through its Duos Edge AI, Inc. data center subsidiary, this week announced the deployment of a new Edge data center in Abilene, Texas.

Launched in collaboration with Region 14 Education Service Center (ESC), Duos said the containerized facility will support K-12 education, healthcare, workforce development, and local businesses in the region.

Located at the Region 14 ESC building along TX-351 and expected to be fully operational in early 2026, the facility will serve as a local carrier-neutral colocation facility. It will also provide bandwidth, data processing, and AI capabilities to more than 40 school districts and charter schools across an 11-county area spanning more than 13,000 square miles.

Duos placed its first Edge facility at the Region 16 Education Service Center in Amarillo in September.

To date, the firm has deployed modules in Texas around Amarillo (Region 16), Victoria (Region 3), Waco (Region 12), Dumas, and Corpus Christi. The firm says its modules can offer 100kW per rack and can be deployed in 90 days.

This data center will be a game-changer for student learning, teacher development, and regional collaboration.”

Founded in 2001 and based in Jacksonville, Florida, Duos offers vision-based technology solutions to automate inspections of trains, trucks, and automobiles while in motion. The company launched a new Edge unit last year and raised $2.2m in funding for the initial roll-out.

Duos said its recent deployment in the Chicagoland area of Illinois was the first of multiple planned Midwest installations. A November presentation from the company said it aimed to have 15 modules deployed by the end of 2025 and a total of 50 in 2026.

First established in 1967, there are 20 regional education service centers across Texas. They provide academic services and business support to various schools and campuses in the local areas they serve.
