Digital Realty’s Interxion has opened a new data center outside Paris, its 12th in the region

Located less than 30 kilometers east of Paris in Ferrières-en-Brie, the new PAR12 facility will provide up to 12 megawatts of IT load capacity and more than 690 sqm of colocation space across eight data halls.

The new facility, Interxion's 12th data center in the French capital region, with the company having data center hubs to the east, north, and south of Paris.

Interxion said the new data center will allow enterprise customers to deploy disaster recovery scenarios from Paris and the east of France using low latency networks deployed along the A4 motorway.

"This new strategic location meets the strong demand from content and cloud providers, who are interested in a third hub in the Paris region," said Fabrice Coquio, managing director or Interxion France. "It will also allow companies in the east of France to improve the resilience of their infrastructure by being located close to Paris, while being connected to a high-performance low latency network. It marks a new chapter in Interxion's development in France to continue to meet customers' demand."

2021 has seen Interxion lease more space in Düsseldorf, Germany; break ground in Marseilles, France; and begin construction of a facility in Brussels, Belgium.
