Digital Realty Trust, Inc., a corporate data center and Internet gateway management company, has announced the acquisition of a leasehold totaling 33,700 square foot of data center space from NYC Connect located at 111 8th Avenue in New York City.
The purchase price was US$24.5 million. The acquisition consists of two suites located on the third and seventh floors of the building. The suites are 94% leased and are being managed by Digital Realty Trust, claims the company.
"The acquisition of the NYC Connect data centers represents an opportunity for us to expand our presence to over 120,000 square feet of mission critical data center space in 111 8th Avenue, a premier hub for Internet connectivity for the northeastern US and one of the premier Internet gateway and corporate data center facilities in the world," commented Michael Foust, CEO of Digital Realty Trust.
