Ken Copeland from OptiCool demonstrates a refrigerant-based server door cooling system

In this interview Ken Copeland, regional director at OptiCool Technologies, talks about the unusual liquid-cooled cabinet doors made by the company.

To raise cooling efficiency, OptiCool uses actual refrigerants that are going through a phase change process, rather than water. The cooling solution itself is non-conductive, non-toxic and non-corrosive.

The cooling equipment is available in 10kW increments, with up to 30kW of cooling capacity per door.

The conversation took place at the DCD Colo + Cloud conference in Dallas.
