Croatian cloud solutions and data center provider DataBox has taken over Digital Realty's cloud services in the country.
As reported by Vecernji List, the move will enable Digital Realty to "realign" its offering in Croatia and focus on acting as an infrastructure provider instead of a cloud service provider in the country.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Current customers of Digital Realty's cloud services will instead become users of DataBox
Vecernji List reports that Digital Realty has decided to "exit the cloud business." DCD has contacted Digital Realty for more information about its future plans.
DataBox offers colocation and cloud services, including virtual data centers, storage-as-a-service, dedicated servers, and backup-as-a-service. The company has a data center in Zagreb.
Digital Realty also has a data center in Zagreb - ZAG1. Located at Selska Cesta 93, it offers 800kW across 9,000 sq ft (830 sqm). Digital Realty took over the facility in September 2020 when its Interxion subsidiary acquired local provider Altus IT. At the time of the acquisition, the facility was described as offering 6,800 sq ft (630 sqm) of space. Digital Realty retired the Interxion brand in 2022.
In October 2023, Digital Realty purchased additional land in Zagreb for a new data center development. There have been no further updates on the development's progress.
Digital Realty has also this month announced the integration of OVHcloud's cloud services into Digital Realty's ServiceFabric platform.
Customers in more than 150 of Digital Realty's data centers will be able to connect to OVHcloud and use the French cloud provider's bare metal offerings and private hybrid, and public cloud environments.
OVHcloud and Digital Realty will be connected by a private high-speed interconnection that bypasses Internet traffic, improving performance and security.
"We're thrilled to integrate OVHcloud's cloud solution into our ServiceFabric platform, enhancing our ability to deliver seamless, scalable, and secure connectivity for enterprises across the globe," said Chris Sharp, CTO of Digital Realty. "This partnership strengthens our platform's capacity to meet the growing demand for hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, ensuring that our customers can access critical cloud and bare metal offerings with the performance, resilience, and flexibility they require. We're excited to be building an open and foundational platform together with our valued partners."
