DataBank is planning to build a $256 million data center in Dallas, Texas.
First reported in Dallas Morning News, the US colocation firm will build its fifteenth Texas data center on Stainback Road in Red Oak, Ellis County.
The proposed facility - dubbed DFW9 - will span more than 425,000 sq ft (40,000 sqm) and will be designed by JHET Architects, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation documents.
Construction is set to begin in September and is scheduled for completion in Q1 2027.
The company already has seven data centers in Dallas with a combined 33.3MW of IT capacity. The flagship DFW3 facility offers 13.5MW of capacity across 16 acres in Plano.
Google and Compass both have a presence in the Red Oak area.
The new data center build comes after DataBank secured a $725m credit facility in April this year. The company said the new capital would fund ongoing expansion. DataBank also secured a $456 million green bond in February.
