A new data center has been proposed in Manchester, UK.
First reported by the Manchester Evening News, DLD (Salford) Ltd has filed to demolish the existing structures at the former White's Reclamation Site on Liverpool Road in Eccles and develop a single data center.
According to the application, the single-story data hall would total 5,070 sqm (54,575 sq ft) and the office would total 1,090 sqm (11,732 sq ft). The project will reportedly total around £250 million ($319m) of investment.
Located in the Eccles area of Salford, to the northwest of Manchester, the 2.57-hectare site is currently used for vehicle sales, storage, and ancillary office purposes. The site borders a residential area.
The site currently comprises brownfield land and buildings used for small-scale industrial uses, open storage, and ancillary offices, in addition to two residential dwellings. All are to be demolished.
Companies House listings suggest DLD (Salford) is linked to Digital Land & Developments Ltd.
