A new data center development is being proposed in the northeast of England.

The Northumberland Gazette reports that a new campus has been proposed in Northumberland, close to QTS’ $13bn data center development.

Plans have not yet been submitted, but leaflets have reportedly been distributed in the West Sleekburn area, revealing plans for a new development.

Planning firm Lichfields distributed the leaflets. The company behind the project hasn't been named.

The proposed site reportedly lies directly south of the River Wansbeck and north of Brock Lane, with the A189 running to the east. It is currently used for agriculture.

Full details of the proposed campus and project timelines haven’t been shared.

The project is around a mile north of the Cambois project from QTS. The 540,000 sqm (5,800,000 sq ft) campus will be built at the former Blyth Power Station. Up to ten data center buildings totaling 720MW could be developed at full build-out.
