A data center outside Omaha, Nebraska, is up for sale.

Sat on six acres in Washington County, the 7,564 sq ft (700 sqm) facility was built in 2008 and constructed to be a data center. The site reportedly has potential to expand to 40,000 sq ft (3,715 sqm)– the sales brochure suggests plans for up to four data halls.

“The building consists of 12-inch reinforced concrete walls (poured-in-place), is certified to sustain a direct hit from an F5 tornado, and has a biometric security system available. It also has copper installed under concrete floor to accommodate the installation of electrostatic dissipative flooring,” the C&W listing said.

Few details about the facility are available online. A City of Blair document suggests it was built by local firm Eriksen Construction for RDI Industries – a maker of containers and dispensers for liquids – suggesting it may have been intended as an enterprise facility.

However, the project was reportedly abandoned by the owner. Sales brochure photos suggest the fit out of the white space was never completed.

Colliers is listing another data center in Blair, a small city north of Omaha. A former Mutual of Omaha office and data center building located at 9330 Highway 133 is available for $11.5 million.

Built in 2003, the vacant two-story property spans 117,550 sq ft (10,920 sqm). It was modified in 2013 to allow for centralized receiving and processing of mail, data center redundancy, and off-site data processing. A Morrissey Engineering case study suggests the site features a 6,000 sq ft (557 sqm) data center.
