CyrusOne has topped out its latest data center in Texas.
The company this week announced that it had topped out the first building at its new campus in Bosque County, Texas.
“Bosque County, Texas, showed up — and CyrusOne was honored to celebrate alongside them,” the company said. “The topping out of our first data center on our campus here marked a milestone not just for construction, but for a community that has welcomed us, partnered with us, and trusted us to do this the right way.”
CyrusOne officially announced plans for the campus, adjacent to Calpine Corporation’s Thad Hill Energy Center, in July 2025. The site is located in Whitney, between the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Waco.
CyrusOne said the construction had seen 650 people involved, taking 450,000 man-hours to date – all without incident.
The company first filed to develop a building – known as DFW10 – at the site in 2024. The $750 million DFW10 is set to be a 250,000 sq ft (23,225 sqm), single-story data center. A second building, the $400m DFW11, is set to be a single-story facility totaling 88,875 sq ft (8,255 sqm).
Initial fit-out of the first two buildings is expected to be completed in October 2026 and August 2027, respectively, according to TDLR filings.
At least three other buildings – 17, 17B, and 17C - are planned on the site. CyrusOne has said the campus, being developed in partnership with Calpine, could total more than 400MW at full build-out.
Thad Hill is a natural gas power plant with a capacity of 250MW. It was commissioned in 2010 and serves the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. Calpine is owned by Constellation.
KKR-owned CyrusOne has more than 50 data centers across the US and European markets. Across Texas, it has more than 14 data centers - both planned and operational - with more than half based around Dallas-Fort Worth.
