CyrusOne has filed to expand its in-development data center campus in Bosque County, Texas.

The company has filed two Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation applications for DFW17B and DFW17C, two single-story data centers at FM56 and CR3610A in Whitney. An application for DFW17 has previously been filed for the same address, but in nearby Clifton – it is unclear if this is an error in the filing information or if the campus spans multiple jurisdictions.

Whitney is located between the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Waco. CyrusOne is developing a data center campus there, with at least two other buildings in development at the site.

DFW17 is a $375 million development, with construction due to run from October 2025 until December 2026. The single-story facility will span 88,875 sq ft (8,257 sqm).

DFW17B, a $500m project, is set to total 249,090 sq ft (23,141 sqm). Development is set to run from January 2026 to April 2027.

DFW17C, a $430m project, is set to total 93,320 sq ft (8,670 sqm), with development running from February 2026 until April 2027.

KKR-owned CyrusOne has more than 50 data centers across the US and European markets. In the Texas market, it has more than 14 data centers - both planned and operational - with more than half based around Dallas-Fort Worth.

The company first filed to develop DFW10 at the Whitney site in November 2024, followed by DFW11 in May of this year.

The $750 million DFW10 is set to be a 250,000 sq ft (23,226 sqm), single-story data center. The $400m DFW11 is set to be a single-story facility totaling 88,875 sq ft (8,257 sqm). Initial fit-out of the two buildings is expected to be completed in October 2026 and August 2027, respectively, according to TDLR filings.

CyrusOne officially announced plans for the campus, adjacent to Calpine Corporation’s Thad Hill Energy Center, in July of this year. The company has said the site could total 400MW at full build-out.

Thad Hill is a natural gas power plant with a capacity of 250MW. It was commissioned back in 2010 and serves the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. Calpine is owned by a consortium of companies, led by Energy Capital Partners (ECP).
