A cryptomine data center in Idaho has been burgled and had its mining rigs stolen.

In a SEC filing, T-Rex Acquisition Corp this week announced that its data center in Orofino, Idaho, was burgled on July 23. Sixty-six “obsolescent and fully depreciated” S19ASIC miners and a portion of the electrical panel that controls the flow of electricity to the various power distribution units were stolen.

The company said it anticipates a “brief mining and colocation interruption” while a new electric panel is installed.

“We have filed an insurance claim for the replacement value of the stolen miners and the electrical panel component up to our insured limit of $75,000. We have already sourced (150) ASIC 270 TH miners and are presently seeking an equipment financing package,” T-Rex said. “Additionally, we are working with local law enforcement in Idaho and Washington State in an effort to recover the stolen property.”

The company noted the stolen mining equipment “does not represent a significant asset loss” as all but $23,000 had been written off in previous years, and the remaining $23,000 will be written off in our fourth quarter. The hardware was reportedly due for replacement.

Despite the hardware's obsolescence, T-Rex noted, however, there will be a “significant” loss of revenue due to the immediate cessation of operations.

T-REX was founded in 2008 as Plethora Resources, originally to engage in the business of consulting to oil and gas exploration companies interested in obtaining exploration and production licenses at auction for oil and gas properties in Russia. The company later changed its name to Sync2 Networks Corp after moving into software-related services, then rebranded to T-Rex in 2014 and moved into crypto.

The company originally mined Bitcoin at Ace Hosting's data center in Tampa, Florida. It acquired the Idaho site with the purchase of Peak Digital Solutions in March.

In April, the firm acquired Baoblock Inc., a Florida-based cryptomining firm that develops mining containers.
