Canadian operator eStruxture Data Centers has secured AI cloud firm CoreWeave as a customer.

Estruxture this week announced that CoreWeave has signed as the anchor tenant for Phase I of CAL-3, the data center firm’s new facility in Calgary, Alberta.

CAL-3 is a 90MW facility located in Rocky View County and scheduled to come online in H2 2026. CoreWeave has signed on for a portion of the capacity as the anchor tenant for Phase I. Further details weren't shared.

Plans for CAL-3 were announced in October 2024. The facility will offer densities up to 125kW per rack.

Launched in 2017, eStruxture currently operates two other facilities in Calgary and 16 in total across Canada.

Announced in 2021, CAL-2 launched in 2023. CAL-1 was acquired from Shaw Communications in 2019.

Fengate Asset Management acquired the company in 2024 for CA$1.8 billion (US$1.3bn).

In Canada, CoreWeave currently operates the CA-East availability zones in Ontario. It is listed as a Dedicated Access zone, which is managed by CoreWeave and reserved for single tenants.

The cloud company was recently announced as a customer of Bell’s upcoming 300MW campus in Saskatchewan.

Recently, CoreWeave said it has surpassed 1GW of data center capacity across nearly 50 facilities, and is on track to reach 1.7GW by the end of 2026. The firm has some 3.5GW contracted to come online by 2027 and as much as 8GW by 2030.

The company largely relies on third parties for its data center capacity. Companies leasing to CoreWeave in North America include Core Scientific, Galaxy, Related Digital, Applied Digital, Chirisa Technology Parks, Lincoln, Flexential, TierPoint, Digital Realty, DataBank, Switch, Digital Crossroads, and others.

CoreWeave customers include OpenAI, Microsoft, IBM, Nvidia, and Meta.
