A communications tower collapsed in Danville, Illinois, yesterday (October 26) after a fertilizer spreader caught part of the guy wire.
As reported by WAND TV, the tower was located on Kickapoo Park Road northwest of Danville, where it stood at 485 feet tall.
A user on Facebook noted that the cause of the collapse was a fertilizer spreader colliding with part of the guy wire.
There were no reported injuries, while the tower collapsed onto a nearby building, which houses transmitter equipment and other items.
One of the tenants on the tower was WAND TV, which leased space on the tower to boost its antenna signal in the eastern part of the central Illinois viewing area.
Some users on social media reported issues connecting to the station, though they have been advised to re-scan their television, which could pick up signal from WAND's primary tower in Argenta.
The antenna boosted WAND signals on 17.1, 17.2, 17.3, 17.4, 17.5, 17.6, and 55.3.
