Provider of web-based applications for the energy industry – Open Access Technology International – has purchased 4.3 acres in Minneapolis to build a second data center according to the Minneapolis St Paul Business Journal.
The company has not hired contractors as yet, or announced its budget for the project.
OATI’s data center is currently used for smart grid, compliance, congestion management, transmission scheduling and energy trading and risk management for energy operations. In January it announced an agreement to provide smart grid functions to the Burbank Water & Power in California for scheduling, dispatch and resource management.
It recently passed the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No 16 (SSAE16) Type II audit for service auditing.
Logicalis names as UK education supplier
Logicalis has been selected to provide data center and cloud services to the Janet Framework, set up by the UK education community for communication and other services.
The framework was announced on 7 February this year, and also covers computing and storage services. Logicalis will be one of eight providers and will supply services from its UK data center operations.
C7 signs up Datto
C7 data centers has signed a multi-year agreement to provide colocation services to backup and disaster reseller Datto.
C7’s data centers are in Utah. The company will custom fit Datto’s data center offering, which focusses on government, health, retail and insurance clients.
