BW Digital has topped off a data center in Batam, Indonesia.
A LinkedIn post made by the company on Tuesday states that the main structure of the NDP1 facility has been completed.
Located at Nongsa Digital Park, a tech park on the island of Batam across the strait from Singapore, the facility is expected to provide up to 24MW of capacity in its first phase and up to 144MW of capacity at full completion.
The company has also signed a 20-year PPA in force since 2024.
BW Digital is the digital infrastructure arm of BW Group, a maritime and shipping conglomerate. The group also owns BW ESS, a global Battery Energy Storage (BESS) owner and operator with more than 500MWh of operating BESS projects.
Most of Indonesia’s data centers are clustered around Jakarta, located on the island of Java. But Batam’s proximity to Singapore and Nongsa Digital Park’s special economic zone status has attracted data center operators, Telkom Indonesia & Etisalat, GDS, Gaw Capital Partners, and Oracle.
