Telco giant BT has reportedly put its international unit up for sale.
As reported by The Mail on Sunday, BT CEO Allison Kirkby is keen to sell the asset and is open to offers for the unit, which serves the company's international customers.
The newspaper noted that the sale of the international unit is a key priority for Kirkby.
Kirkby, who joined BT in January from Swedish telco Telia, outlined plans earlier this year to explore options to optimize BT's global business.
Potential buyers of the unit include private equity firms, while US carrier Verizon is thought to be interested, and Amazon and Microsoft were also named as possible investors.
The unit up for sale is reportedly within the BT Business segment, after BT merged its global and enterprise businesses back in 2022 as a way of cutting costs.
BT has been heavily linked with a sale of its Irish business this year as well. Kirkby reignited plans to sell BT Ireland earlier this year, four years after her predecessor, Philip Jansen, scrapped a deal
Last month, Macquarie-backed Viatel Technology Group was said to be interested in the Irish unit.
