The company this week announced the launch of Piemonte Capital, a new asset manager dedicated to private equity.

With an initial fundraising of R$ 1 billion ($166.5m) for its first fund, Piemonte described the venture as the first Brazilian asset manager focused exclusively on data centers. The company said goal is to build a “robust investment platform to support innovative and sustainable digital growth.”

Alessandro Lombardi, founder and CEO of Piemonte Holding, said: "Piemonte Capital offers Brazilian investors an entry point into the data center sector, which has so far been dominated by large international asset managers. We will meet the growing demand for capital allocation in one of the most promising sectors of the economy, developing the right digital infrastructure that Brazil needs."

Piemonte founded Brazilian operator Elea in 2019, and in 2021 added Goldman Sachs Asset Management as an investor.

Elea has nine data centers across Brasília (two), Curitiba, São Paulo (x3), Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and Porto Alegre (two). It has previously acquired data centers from TIM, Globo, Oi, and DXC.
