Bitcoin mining company Cango has launched an "integrated energy and AI compute platform" dubbed EcoHash Technology LLC.
EcoHash officially commenced operations on April 13, offering a platform for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI inference based on its "global operations."
The solution will leverage Cango's existing global energy footprint, deploying standardized, plug-and-play compute modules with the EcoLink Orchestration Platform.
EcoHash's compute units are containerized deployments that support both horizontal and vertical deployments, with air and liquid cooling compatibility.
This will start with a dedicated space at Cango's 50MW cryptomining facility in Georgia before eventually being rolled out at other Cango locations. The Georgia site is currently listed as "under construction," while other locations are listed as "upcoming," including in Japan, California, Texas, and Tennessee.
Jack Jin, CTO of EcoHash, said: "EcoHash represents the core vehicle of our strategy to architect a future-ready platform and serve as our next growth engine, now entering a phase of accelerated commercialization. Our proprietary orchestration layer, the central nervous system of our network, is built to enable intelligent, real-time resource allocation. This connects decentralized energy assets directly to the demands of LLM inference, generative AI, and a growing spectrum of compute-intensive applications as our node infrastructure scales."
EcoHash is targeting AI developers needing low-latency compute, and Bitcoin mining operators that want to find "scalable, modular pathways to diversify physical infrastructure assets."
Cango was previously a Chinese car loan financing company, but in April 2025 refocused fully on Bitcoin mining services. The company sold its car financing business in mainland China to Ursalpha Digital Limited for around $351.94 million, which included an up-front payment of $210.64m.
The company has cryptomining sites in various global locations, including Oman, East Africa, Paraguay, Canada, and the US.
Pivoting from cryptomining operations to AI and HPC cloud has become a common trend. Several of the largest AI cloud operators today found their origins in cryptomining, including Nscale, CoreWeave, IREN, and Core Scientific, among others. Read more about the business move here.
