Providence Equity Partners-owned Bitė Group is set to reignite plans to spin off its tower infrastructure in Lithuania and Latvia.
As reported by Infrastructure Investor Deals, the company could look to spin off its tower assets from January 2026.
IID reports that Providence Equity Partners is encouraged by domestic rival Tele2's announcement earlier this month that it will carve out its telecom infrastructure assets to create the first tower company to cover the Baltic region.
At present, Bitė owns around 250 sites in Lithuania, plus another 180 in Latvia.
Lazard is advising Providence over a potential spin-off, adds IID.
An attempt to spin off the unit would be the third time that Providence has sought to carve out the infrastructure assets, having failed to strike a deal with Ancala Partners this summer.
Actis and Saudi tower company Tawal have also previously expressed an interest in Bitė's towers.
It's thought that Tele2's recent deal has given the tower market more of a benchmark in the region.
Tele2's decision to spin off its 2,700 towers across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania values the tower company at €560 million ($652m) on a debt-free basis.
