Developer Beale Infrastructure has bought a land parcel for its ‘Project Pilot’ data center in De Soto, Kansas.

Last August, the Beale-associated Mount Sunflower Properties sought and received approval for the construction of a four-phase data center that would cover a 290-acre land parcel near Edgerton Road, 103rd Street, Kansas Highway 10, and 95th Street.

The City of De Soto also approved property tax and sales tax exemptions on up to $50 billion in Industrial Revenue Bonds, which are bonds issued by governments on behalf of private enterprises.

The Kansas City Business Journal has since reported that Pilot KC Holdings LLC, another company associated with Beale, then bought the land parcels last September, according to property filings.

Although construction for the facility has not begun, a presentation provided to the De Soto City Council showed that the developer will deliver its first building by 2027.

The end user of the facility is unknown at this point.

Beale Infrastructure, backed by asset management firm Blue Owl, is in the process of developing multiple campuses. One is set to be located outside Tucson, Arizona, and the other will be near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
