Base Partners Inc, an advisor and developer of customized data center solutions has announced that it has begun the development process for a new 116,000 square foot state-of-the-art data center in El Segundo, California. The company entered into an agreement to acquire an existing building on a 6+ acre parcel of land in the west Los Angeles municipality that currently houses numerous Fortune 500 companies.
"This project will offer Southern California data center users an unprecedented level of security and flexibility, said Jean Ann Krupp, the company's chief of real estate operations. "Critical to the success of the project is the ability to provide up to 300 watts of power per square foot, at a price that will be as low as 7.9 cents per kilowatt hour.
"We are very encouraged by the demand we've seen thus far, said Aaron Wangenheim, president of Base Partners. "The diversity and strength of the local economy, specifically defense, technology and entertainment/ media companies, have created the need for higher capacity data center facilities. This project will raise the bar for companies looking for new mission critical solutions.
