Barclays takeover of failed investment bank Lehman Brothers included two datacenters in New Jersey, valued at $1.5 billion.
The total price paid so far for assets of the bankrupt bank is $1.75 billion but the UK purchaser said it might continue to buy up more of the US bank.
At the time of 911 terrorist attacks in New York in 2001 Lehman Brothers ran one of its datacenters in Manhattan with a second one in New Jersey. But since then the bank had moved both out to New Jersey.
Barclays reached a deal on Tuesday to pick up Lehman assets after the US bank filed for bankruptcy on Monday.
