CDC, one of Australia’s largest data center companies, has opened a campus in Brooklyn, Melbourne.
The two-facility campus was inaugurated last Thursday with government officials in attendance, including Australia’s assistant treasurer, Daniel Mulino.
CDC does not seem to have issued information about the campus' current capacity. But according to a LinkedIn post by Danny Pearson, Australia’s Minister for Finance, the campus will add 155MW of capacity to the company's portfolio.
The minister's post also claims that there are plans for a third facility.
Information about the campus is vague. According to the CDC’s website, the site has been operational since 2024 and is set to provide over 350MW of capacity at completion.
CDC has also stated its intention to provide more than 800MW of capacity in Melbourne. It is currently building a second campus in Laverton, located in the west of the city, close to Brooklyn.
The company broke ground on the Laverton campus last February.
Melbourne is one of Australia's largest data center hotspots, alongside Sydney and Brisbane.
Founded in 2007 as Canberra Data Centres, CDC has nearly 20 sites in operation and development across Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.
