Data center provider Ascent has completed a new colocation suite at its data center in the Chicago suburbs.

A financial services firm has already taken some space in the 36,000 sq ft 2.5MW suite, the provider said.

Phil Horstmann, Ascent CEO, said the company's services had been well received by enterprise customers. “In discussions with users in the market we know there are many small to mid-size companies looking for this same level of quality infrastructure and service but on a smaller scale,” he said.

“The launch of our multi-tenant colocation suite will allow us to provide highly efficient, cost-effective data center solutions to a huge part of the marketplace we haven’t traditionally worked with, and offer an option that is not currently available to these companies.”

The data center in Northlake, Illinois, has a dedicated electrical substation on site and has 54MW of power available to it. The new colocation suite can accommodate a variety of power density requirements.

The company offers around-the-clock operational support and remote management services.
