A company linked to Amazon has acquired land in Virginia's Prince William County that was recently granted data center zoning approval.
BizJournal reports Minnieville Capital Acquisitions LLC recently bought eight parcels totaling about 39 acres in Manassas for $56.6 million. The land is located at and around the Colchester Industrial Park just north of Dumfries Road, where it intersects with Colchester Park Drive.
Minnieville assembles and entitles data center land for its clients, but BJ reports the buyer's Seattle address in certain Prince William County property records, and numerous records elsewhere, is associated with a P.O. box used by Amazon.
An Amazon spokesperson told the publication the company is "constantly evaluating new locations based on customer demand."
The assemblage is part of the Mid-County Industrial Park project, a 64-data center development the Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved rezoning for in June.
Up to three data centers could be developed on the site.
