Texas-wide operator of interconected data centers, Apheus Communications has opened its newest facilty at Two Shell Plaza, downturn Houston. The 5,500 square foot raised floor suite has undergone extensive modernisation to accomodate the necessary power and HVAC requirements demanded by colocation tenants, who include Synergy Data DS Enterprises.

Chip Robertson, Senior Vice President of Sales for Alpheus said: "There is a shortage of this kind of hardened data center space in Houston generally. This location should help our customers who need access to their servers, but also want to have redundancy in critical functions like power and connectivity."

Banks, local healthcare providers and energy clients are likely to utilize the new location because of the opportunity to leverage Alpheus' extensive fiber footprint across all of the major Texas metro areas.
